High Desert Iris Society – Iris Symposium

High Desert Iris Society will be featuring its annual Iris Show, open to the public, free of charge, Saturday, June 3, from 12:30-5pm at Moana Nursery’s Landscape Design Center across the parking lot from our Moana Lane store. See fabulous colorful displays of iris in this AIS-sanctioned and judged show. Plan to attend the Iris Symposium Saturday from 2-4 in the Design Center to hear a variety of speakers on iris, iris culture, drought-tolerance and history. Enjoy this year’s theme presentation, “Iris in Art” discovering how art inspires companion plants, color use, and decor from ancient Egyptian art, Van Gogh, and Monet to recent Georgia O’Keefe iris works. Learn to combat weeds, promote iris growth, use unfamiliar garden aids available on Moana’s shelves, dividing and replanting iris, and how to use tools to lighten the work.
