  • Fertilize annuals in containers, baskets and window boxes every 2-3 weeks with G&B Organics Bud & Bloom. Liquid G&B Organics High Bloome Fertilizer can be used with each watering. Always water plants before fertilizing.
  • Use Fox Farm Marine Cuisine or G&B Organics Rhododendron, Azalea & Camellia Fertilizer to help green up conifers that are looking chlorotic (yellow).
  • Treat turf fungi with a fungicide. For best results, alternate the fungicide used each year – use Bonide Infuse, Copper Fungicide or Weed Beater Ultra to control. Mow high (3 to 3/12 inches) so individual blades of grass can shade each other.
  • Control insect pests, including aphids, mealybugs, scale, spider mites, thrips, whitefly and others with Ladybugs and Lacewings, Organocide Bee Safe 3-in-1 Garden Spray, or Bonide Bon-Neem II. For safe and quick control of leaf chewing insects, use Captain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew.
  • Fertilize fruits & vegetables with G&B Organics Tomato, Vegetable & Herb Fertilizer or Citrus & Fruit Tree Fertilizer every 2 months and G&B Organics High Bloome Liquid Fertilizer every 2-4 weeks.
  • Spray tomato (and other vegetable) blossoms with Bonide Tomato & Blossom Set Spray to increase yields and produce larger, meatier tomatoes earlier.
  • Very important: remove tree stakes and ties from trees & shrubs planted a year ago or longer.

A symposium presented by the High Desert Iris Society (HDIS)

Amendments, iris growing seasons, companion plants and benefits of joining an iris club will be discussed along with additional information for beginner and advanced gardeners. Door prizes, refreshments plus a fun, free competition.  Attendees are invited to bring & display iris photos, iris floral arrangements & educational iris materials they've created and will vote for a winner in each category.  Winners will receive a certificate and prize from the HDIS. Bring items in between 9:30 – 10 am and pick them up 12:30pm.
