Potted Christmas trees we
grow:
Considerations in selecting
a living Christmas Tree
1) Where are you going to plant it after Christmas? Most of the trees sold as living Christmas trees grow 40 feet or more.
2) Living Christmas trees should be kept inside
the home the shortest time possible -- no more than ten days.
Care Tips
·
Place the tree away from all heat sources fireplaces, space
heaters and heating vents including electrical appliances and televisions.
·
Water fresh trees daily. Constructing or buying an
inexpensive siphon system will make it easier to continue watering once there
are presents under the tree.
· When decorating live Christmas trees, remember, smaller lights give off less heat.
· Limiting the size and number of light strings will help keep your tree fresher through the holidays. This is especially important for living trees because you don’t want to leave burn marks on the tree.
·
Spray with CloudCover once or
twice before bringing the tree into the house.
Planting Tip
·
Plan ahead: Dig the hole now
before the ground freezes. Fill hole with straw or burlap and cover hole with
plywood so no one falls in. Keep soil in
garage or shed so that it doesn’t freeze.
·
Add one drop of SUPERthrive solution to each
gallon of water when you plant the tree.
